As we entered the Wild animal safari gate, we were excited to explore the majestic animal world kingdom spread over 300 acres with more than 400 creatures in the open space. My little sister was visiting the Wild Animal safari for the first time, she was curious and nervous.
Because of Covid-19, everybody was stuck at home for a long time. We could not plan any outing during the whole summer.

My mom planned a surprise tour for us as it was a bright and sunny day. It was Wild Animal Safari visit in Troup County, Georgia. We started from home after lunch for our 2 hours journey to Safari. Since it was a weekend, we did not get much traffic on the way while passing through Atlanta.
As soon as we reached at the Animal Safari, we bought tickets and 4 packets of Animal food – “PARK FOOD”. There was a special instruction for the visitors to feed only Park Food to the wild animals due to the safety concerns of animals. We drove towards the entry gate and gate keeper checked our tickets and allowed us to go inside Wild Animal safari.
We went inside and saw some wild animals roaming around the cars. There were lots of car in front of us and passengers were tossing food towards the animals. Suddenly my sister screamed “Come zebra, come here!! I have some food”. But she didn’t know “How can animals understand her language?”
We saw a giant animal standing far away and I noticed that it was a Giraffe. My father lowered down the car windows as we reached near to the Giraffe. We put our hands out with food and the Giraffe gently ate the food sticks. It was amazing feeling to pet and feed such a huge animal. My little sister got scared at the first time but when she saw me feeding the Giraffe, she also took her hand out and fed the Giraffe.
Giraffe Feeding Loved the long Neck
We moved further and saw some elk, moose, bison, cows on the way. Since it was an afternoon and all the Bisons were taking rest after having their heavy lunch.

There was a big cage in the Safari and we saw two Lions sleeping inside. We drove by the water buffalo pond and saw some water buffalo. We enjoyed feeding fallow deer, moose, lamas, baby deer, goats on the way.

My sister loved feeding little pigs and she was calling them Granny pigs. We also saw Zebras, Ostriches and Camel on the way. We dropped the food near to them as it was not allowed to feed them with hand. There was a funny incident happened when I was feeding the Donkeys. As I put my hand outside the window to feed the Donkey, He put his mouth inside the car. My mom and sister screamed and I got scared. All the animal food popped out of the bag and spread in the car and also on me. My dad immediately raised the window all the way up. We could not stop laughing for a long time.

Next, we saw and fed more fallow deer and baby white tailed deer that were hiding in the grass. We pet them from our car. There was a big Moos which was making funny noise at the exit gate of the Wild animal safari. We spent around two hours in the Drive through Wild safari and everybody loved the experience.

After coming out of the Wild Animal safari, we parked the car in the Parking lot and went in Park Walkabout. As we walked through, we saw White tiger that was in a cage with a leopard and the next cage had a Bengal Tiger in it. The Bengal tiger is an endangered species in this world and there are fewer than 2,000 Bengal Tigers left in the wild. Please help the nature and save these animals. Then we moved a little ahead and a black bear was sleeping in the cage and there was an Arctic wolf as well in another cage. We also saw Lemurs in the cage. They were jumping around the branches as they were supposed to do it. We saw a Serval (a huge cat), some sheep, Turtles, Bunnies on the way. Then we went inside a room and saw Python, Geico, mini monkeys and Sloths. Some peacocks and peahens were roaming around us. It was almost 6 pm and the zoo was about to close. So, we came out and drove back home.
Over all it was a wonderful experience to feed and watch Wild animals roaming around the cars. I loved petting the Giraffe and will never forget about Donkey’s incident. Thanks to Mommy for planning the surprise visit and Paa for driving there. Stay Tuned for my next blog…
